Seaton Devon

The west side of Seaton provides access to beautiful countryside and beach walks. There is an abundance of pubs in the area, each with its own particular character, many of these offering locally brewed ales from the excellent Otter Brewery (among others), plus some traditional Devon ciders, also produced locally.

Fabulous restaurants can be found, with many offering locally caught fresh fish as part of their menus. A wide variety of tastes and budgets is catered for in the area where our guests can find the best places to enjoy an evening out. Taxis and an excellent bus service are available for those who prefer to leave the car at home.

Our favourite - Beer beach - is a pretty little cove sheltered from the winds and very pleasant both in the day and at night. The Jubilee walk above the cliffs at the beach is perfect for a romantic evening stroll or to just sit & watch the sunset. Devon offers some of the cleanest & safest water on the south coast and a natural suntrap to laze the day away in.
For those who wish to venture further afield, nearby Branscombe can be reached either by car (5-10 mins) or by cliff path from Beer (60 mins).

Reputed to be the longest village in England (it stretches along the edge of a long natural valley) this picture-postcard place has traditional thatched cottages and lovely floral displays, an old working forge, ancient Norman church, and two marvellous pubs (one at either end of the village). The pretty pebble beach has a small shop & restaurant facilities (try a traditional cream tea at the Old Bakehouse).

Also worth a mention (and definitely a visit) are:

  • Bicton Gardens (a garden lover’s paradise!)
  • The secluded cove at Ladram Bay - complete with chimney!
  • Sidmouth - with its beautiful ornamental gardens and Jacob’s Ladder
  • Exmouth - for delightful sandy beaches
  • Crealy Adventure Park - a great day out for all the family
  • Karting World & Westpoint Exhibition Arena
  • City of Exeter - noted for its historic cathedral & exclusive shopping

And if you still have time after all that...

Beer Quarry & Caves, Lyme Regis (perfect for fossil hunters), Farway Country Park, Seaton Tramway, Pecorama & more!
